On 5 Jun 2020, an additional four stations of the Northern Green Line extension, Mo Chit-Sapan Mai-Ku Kot section, begin trial operations, from Royal Forest Department station (N14) to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station (N17) station. General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony and rode the train from Ha Yak Ladprao station to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station, taking only 17 minutes.
Currently, there are 9 Northern Green stations in service and the whole line, with a total of 16 stations to Ku Kot station, is expected to commence full operations in December 2020. With this, BTS SkyTrain has a total service distance of 68.25 kilometers in 59 stations.
